Overdoing it

Nicholas Quirke was unexpectedly busy on the 17th which commenced with an unusually early 7 am start to ensure that he was not queuing at the sorting office to collect important registered post.  He followed this expedition with morning green tea at Small Batch in the hilarious company of Zak Innes or, as he likes to be known as he is now a published photographer,  IMA Photography. He fitted in a grocery shop at Taj and Waitrose before meeting Sonia for a reunion lunch at Infinity Foods Kitchen. It was a first time visit for both and they ordered the appealingly named ‘Artisan Platter’ a rich collection of nut cheeses and breads and other vegan delicacies. They had a great catch up though he felt a bit emotional as it was probably the last time he would see Sonia before starting his odyssey. Called into Hisbe and bought some bread and treats for the evening meal and purchased their designer tote bag.

Nicholas picked Grace and Rocco up at 5 pm to go to the vets for Rocco’s check up and then back home for 6 to finish cooking the evening meal for his guests, Phoebe, Keira and Alex who were due at 7. Stuff Dall and broiled tofu were the menu. The Indian flavour to the meal added to decision to definitely include a visit to India and Calcutta into the travel itinerary. Experimenting with Nicholas’s GoPro  dominated the after dinner chat which didn’t finish till Midnight and he is aware that he will need to refine his film making techniques. Clearing, washing up and an episode of Mindhunter meant that Nicholas didn’t get to sleep till 2 am

  1. Phoebe Munson was loathe to admit she had a lovely evening and that Nicholas Quirke was a gracious host as always. She also did not want to admit she would miss Nicholas Quirke while he was away, but would greatly enjoy reading his blog and would look forward to a trip to Devon upon his return
